It’s an incredibly gorgeous day here in Northern California and I thought it was the perfect time to show you the lovely redbud tree blossoms that I found!  The bees were busy this morning!  Have a wonderful first day of spring!

The Arbitrary Swoon Sutter Buttes

The Arbitrary Swoon Sutter Buttes

Gridley is nestled in the shadow of the world’s smallest mountain range, the Sutter Buttes.  For my entire life, I have known that after a long journey, I am home as soon as I see those majestic mountains shooting up from the flat valley floor.  I’ve been able to wander within their cliffs and pastures and they never cease to amaze me.  This past Saturday the hot hubby and I decided that it was the perfect time to take a drive as he is recouping from a broken leg and is feeling rather housebound.  The sun was near setting casting a warm glow across the land.  I swear that you cannot take a bad photograph out there and thought that I’d share two of my favorite shots as this week’s Blooming Lovely segment.

Blooming Lovely - The Arbitrary Swoon

While some might have their reservations about living within a farming mecca in the northern California valley (Ahhhh Chooo) I personally love the seasonal changes within our local communities.  From the blossoms to the harvest each transitional change of season brings new and exciting showy views and I’ve decided to start sharing those incredible views with the rest of the world.  I will begin in my own backyard…  along the ditch bank lined with towering oaks a small unassuming tree blooms each spring.  I have no idea what kind of a tree it is but I love it each time that it shows off it’s soft pinkish tinted blooms.  So hurrah to this tree…  thanks for sharing your beauty with me each year!
